Any final thoughts or statements to make before we wrap up?

I do have a few. If I had to give advice before this class was over, it would be to do your work. If you don't do your work, you won't get anywhere. Go to class also, the second options are horrible :) Just my opinion though.

I have been sicker than a dog still. My husband called 911 about 2:30 this morning because I woke up and was completely out of it. I was dizzy, lightheaded, acting really funny, completely out of it. The ambulance took me to the hospital, and they determined I was so dehydrated they couldn't/wouldn't even put an IV in me. They gave me a straw and cups and cups of water and told me to drink. They left my husband to supervise and told him to lay the smack-down if I quit drinking. They also determined I was having a reaction to a nausea pill my doctor gave me, a neurological reaction. Today I feel bad again. I've been so tired, in and out all day sleeping, because of dehydration again I think. My husband got me gatorade and has been forcing Popsicles down by throat. He means good :)

Going to drink some more Gatorade.

Do you feel nervous, accomplished, or just plain tired?

WOW.

I am beat. Half because I went to Florida last week, and I am 7 weeks pregnant and sicker than a dog.

The other half is because I am SOOOOO done with this paper. I really want to turn it all in and never think about it, ever again. The grade I get is the grade I get. I did my best. When all you can do is all you can do, all you can do is enough, right?

I sure hope so. I took a long nap tonight and I am once again going back to bed as soon as my homework is done.

Bye!

Tuesday at Disney

Hello everyone!

Good news! Sunday I switched from Prenatal Vitamins to Flinestones. WOW, does it make a difference, I haven't gotten sick in about 37 hours. Nice. And I ate a lot today. That was because we went to Epcot. YUMMY! All the countries and the good food.

My daughter today went to a character spot, where she saw Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald. She LOVES all of them, but her favorite is Pluto. It was so precious, it made her day!! She gave Pluto like 10 hugs!

Tomorrow is Hollywood Studios, then Thursday is Animal Kingdom, then Friday we are hanging at the hotel and having a relaxation day/swim day. Yaaayy! Then home again home again!

First Day at Disney

Ok, we are here at the hotel now.

I am sicker than a dog.

The morning sickness..(24/7) sickness kicked in last Wednesday, and hasn't led up.

Bad news, we have to pay $7 a day for wireless. That stinks!

Good news, tomorrow we are going to the magic kingdom. Yaaayyy! I'm not sure when the next time I am going to have internet is, so I will try to finish my posts tonight. Night everyone.

Going to bed before I get sick again :)

The past 24 hours

The past 24 hours has brought about a buncha hope for my family. I went to the Dr yesterday. I was actually really nervous about going, because I checked on www.ratemd.com and I got mixed messages about this doctor. Out of 18 reviews, she got 4 bad ones and 14 good ones. I understand where the people were coming from though. My Dr is very outspoken, so if you get offended easily, you probably won't like her. I don't mind though. She said she would like a scheduled c-section about a week before, as long as everything is going okay. This is fine with me. Hannah was delivered c-section, and I prefer it that way.

I talked to them again today, and based on my blood work I am about 41/2 weeks. This is cool! What stinks is I am not passed the point of morning sickness like I was hoping. I had really bad morning sickness with my Hannah. I hope to skip it this time maybe? Please pray and hope for me!

My final paper is done. 4 days until we leave for vacation! Then I will be blogging lots more!

See everyone at seminar!

Discuss any issues you have had throughout the process.-Unit 8 Blog

Wow. This is such a broad question. My problem EVERY TIME I write is writer's block. Or I get easily distracted. I want to be a children's book author, and writing children's books is the only time I don't have writer's block. If I am writing a novel or a research paper, I procrastinate because I don't know what to say. The funny thing is, when the writer's block passes, I write like crazy and it just flows. It's just a matter of getting pass the blockage!

I get easily distracted too when writing something. Ohh look something shiny! Not intentionally. It gives me time to think I guess when I concentrate on something else, I am still thinking about the thing I'm writing, just got distracted from doing it.

I get distracted the most by my 2 year old. Normal, right? I'm glad my hubby is here right now to help. It stinks when he is gone. He's a soldier, he wasn't here for my whole pregnancy or the first 3 months of my daughter's life. He's here for this pregnancy though, and he better not leave! I'll fight the military over him! :) It's easier with two parents!

Prego my Eggo!

Hi everyone!

I went to the dr for the first time for my pregnancy today. She did a bunch of bloodwork and is going to call me tomorrow and let me know how far I am. Only 5 days left until I leave for Disney! I'm so excited. My research paper is about 99% done, just need to make a few pages.

I got on a few minutes ago and tried to work on the DB, but everytime I try to run in it says "runtime error". I checked all our computers, and it still wouldn't let me. So I'm guessing the website is down?

Don't worry, I will be blogging next week while I'm gone. I probably will not attend seminar, but I will do option 2, don't worry!

Much love to everyone! Off to enjoy my busy week. Dancing with the Stars is on in 27 minutes, and that's my favorite show! I'm so glad it's back for another season!

Busy weekend!

Hi Everyone!

I have a way busy weekend! Tomorrow night we are heading to my dad's house in Indianapolis. We are going to go late, it's 2 hours, because if we leave when my husband comes home at 5 my daughter will sleep the whole way. We don't want that! Then she'll be up all night.

Saturday we need to get the oil change in my car, and take my puppy to the vet. Well, he's not a puppy, he's a dog. I just call him a puppy. He is a beagle, and he has a baby face. Way cute! There's a pic of him attached! He's getting old I think. I think he's 8ish. He's grumpy and always sleeping and moping around.

Sunday is my niece's birthday. She's 4. Her name is Lilly Grace. She is so excited! I remember when she was born!!!

We are coming home Sunday night, (late again so the 2 year old will sleep) because Monday at 1 p.m. I have my first appt for my pregnancy! I am so worried, yet scared. I guess it doesn't seem real yet?

Tuesday-Wed-Thurs we are cleaning! Friday we are having a big BBQ at my house, because it's Spring Saturday and we love to celebrate Spring! We are having a lot of friends and a few family over!

Saturday again, the 27th we head out early for Disney!!! I hope it comes fast!

(And don't worry, my paper's almost done!)

New news!

Welcome to unit 7 everyone! I'm so glad we all made it this far!

I just found out I was pregnant this morning. I am very happy, don't get me wrong, I was just hoping we wouldn't have anymore until after we went on vacation. I'm a big roller coaster person, so I wanted to go on all of them. I'll get over it though! I'd rather have another sweet baby than a 2 minute roller coaster ride, right?

I am really scared. I actually wasn't expecting it right now. My husband is thrilled. Mr. I don't want any kids from the beginning has 2 now, and is in heaven. We have a girl like I've said before. My parents have 3 granddaughters already, no grandsons. My sister has 2 girls that are 4 and 2, then I have Hannah who is 2. Maybe we can get a boy? Either way if we end up with a girl, we'll have 4 girls under the age of 4 in my family. How fun is that?

How do you feel about peer reviews? What have your experiences with them been like? Unit 7

I think peer reviews are wonderful. Why? Because I can get an insight of how everyone else is doing, and they can read about how I am doing. I like that not only am I getting an opinion from the professor, but also from multiple sources, my classmates.

My experiences with them have been good. Last term I had one, and she found more than the writing center did! I like that the peer reviews come from other students, my classmates, not from a professor or writing center. Someone who is on my level. What do you guys think?

I have never been so relieved in my life!

Why you ask? Well, first of all, we have 12 days until we leave for Florida (March 27). That doesn't count for me though. After this coming up weekend, the days will go fast. As of Monday the 22nd, I will be in complete vacation mode. I am so relieved because I have this unit's project done, so once I get it back I need to revise it. I mean, after this unit's project, that takes the pressure out of writing the whole paper, because we have a huge portion of it done, right?

In my other class I had to write a 7 page paper. You got it, I got it done today! WOO-HOO! It is so relieving. Now to just get through the week.....

How exciting!

Sorry guys, I had to blog about something funny that happened Friday.

Good news, my paper is a wonderful work in progress!! I turned in my draft a few minutes ago. It needs work, yes, but that's the point, right?

Anyway, every morning my child wakes up and asks if we are going to Mickey Mouse's house today. I say no, because it's no until the 27th that we are leaving. I explained to her that in a few days, we'll pack her bag with her stuff to take with us. I also told her we have to wait for Uncle Mike, my brother. He is going with us.

Friday, she brings me her backpack stuffed so much with toys she couldn't even zip it up. Included being stuffed in her backpack was her Pluto doll, which she will not go to sleep without. She hands it to me, turns around, gets my phone, and hands it to me also. She tells me to call Uncle Mike because she's all ready to go now.

What do I say to that? I was trying not to laugh. Children say the most funny things.

Share what you have personally been dealing with the last six weeks.

Well, this will help me to express myself.

With class, things have been great. Time has flown. I have been nervous about this paper, as I have mentioned before, because I am going on vacation on the 27th. Before I leave, I want it done and turned into the writing center. Therefore, when I come back on the 5th, all I have to do is fix it and turn it in. (Papers are due the 6th, right?) I am just going to be so relieved when it's done!

In life, I've had anxiety. My Disney World Trip is on the 27th and I haven't been in 11 years. I get to take my daughter and husband for the first time. I am so excited. We've been saving money FOREVER and FINALLY get to go. This is like, our dream vacation. I really hope nothing comes in the way. So far so good.

Well, since we are talking about this vacation, do ya'll care if I vent a bit? My mom is driving me nuts. She invited herself on our family vacation. My husband, my daughter, and I decided when we first planned it we would take my brother, who is 17. We decided this because I promised him a long time ago next time I went he could go. Also, he's responsible and he's my roller coaster buddy (my hubby doesn't do fast high things), and he can help us watch our little one. Private time for me and my hubby, right? So we are all set to go. My mom told us she was coming to. Huh? Why would you invite yourself on your daughter's family vacation? We aren't paying for my brother, my dad and himself have worked out the money for him.

We have a 2 door ford focus. This sits 4 people. We have a car seat. Where would she sit? I feel bad for her, I really do. I love her and I don't want to hurt her feelings. What do I do!?

Let's do this!

I have started my final project for both my classes. Why so early? My vacation falls at the end of unit 8 until the end of unit 9. I don't want to come back and do the paper! Yuck! We return April 5. The paper is due April 6. Nonnooono! That's why I'm getting it done early!

We are getting very excited about going. It's beautiful outside! We've kept the windows open and the heat off for the last few days. It's 63 today! I love Spring!

Unit 5 Blog

How is school influencing your life at or up to this point?

Wow, this is an interesting question. Here's my story:

I married a soldier. Actually, to be honest, when I finished high school, I wasn't sure I wanted to go to college. YEAH RIGHT! After marrying my husband, he went to Iraq about 6 months later. I was pregnant with my daughter at the time. From that point, my ideas changed. As soon as she was born, 3 months later, I started Massage Therapy school. I wanted to be better. Not for me, but for her. I wanted to give her everything I could. When she came to me and asked for something she needed, I wanted to be able to give it to her. How could I do this without going to college? I couldn't. After I was almost done, I saw a sign for Kaplan University. (I was attending Kaplan College at the time, that's where I saw it.) I enrolled. Now here I am. On April 13 I am actually switching to Ashford University, because they have a degree I want to switch to, one that Kaplan does not. How has it changed my life? I know that when I am done I can support my daughter. I can support her all by myself also, in case something happens to my husband. I am prepared!

Another Unit is gone.........

Hello class!

I hope everyone had a good unit. I did! I like learning about how to cite because then I'll know I"ll do okay on my final papers for my classes, if I know how to do it right. I am at my dad's house in Indianapolis this week. I have a lot going on up here so I'm staying with him through the weekend. I am excited my vacation is drawing nearer too! I can't wait to blog everything!

What would you do if someone used something you created without giving you credit?

Unit 4 Hello! Almost half done! WOW!

If someone used something I used without giving me credit, I would be very upset. I don't know if there' s something that matter with me or what! My mom tells me I have middle child syndrome, which is possible, but I feel like I am constantly not heard by anyone. My family, my husband, my dog...if someone did this, it would just add to the stress of never being heard. At that point, I would make myself heard and get legal advice. I would have to make sure I would be able to prove it also. My dad says "Always cover your own butt." So before I sent anything anywhere, I would make sure I had a copy mailed to me unopened, so the postmark is readable and they can see I had the original before anyone else. Does anyone else ever feel unheard?

Good afternoon Unit 4!

Wow, I can't believe this unit is going so fast! Only 6 units left! It'll be gone before we know it. My husband is out of town this week, so I am enjoying some one-on-one time with my 2 year old. We've been shopping, out to lunch, watch movies and eat pizza late night, everything. She's so fun and growing up so fast. I have noticed in the past month or so her talking a lot more also. She used to say words here and there, now she is putting sentences together! So fun!! She's been catching on to things to. Yesterday she said "Oh mommy you're so funny!", then started laughing. I love kids! This weekend my sister is coming down with her 2 girls, who are 4 and 2. Our friend in Louisville owns a farm, and they go out there on weekends and ride four wheelers, everything. It's interesting. The girls love it! We also bring my dog, because the farm is all fenced in. We live in a duplex, so we don't get out much! See you all in a few minutes, it's almost seminar time!

Based upon your reading on plagiarism, why do you think we need to cite our sources?

Hello class,

Plagiarism is a no-no. I said it last unit, and I will say it over and over. We must site our sources because we must give credit as due. How would you like it if someone took something that was yours and claimed it as their own? Talk about a law suit. Beyond not being fair, you can't get credit if it's not yours. This is why we must use original work and cite our sources. I knew someone in high school that took their older sister's research paper from years before, and turned it in as their own. Little did the student know, the teacher remembered the student's sister, therefore catching a little deja vu. She knew she had read this paper before. She was right. After much research, the teacher caught My friend got suspended. Cite your sources, because if it is someone else's "property" or "idea", keep it that way. Play nice!

See everyone at seminar tonight.

Days go by...

Class, I cannot believe it is almost Unit 4 already! Time flies when you are having fun I guess! I enjoy reading everyone's posts.

This week is a quiet week at my house. Last week, I spent the week at my father's and went to a meeting Wednesday night, that's why I could not attend seminar. I am on the board of a charity called the "Indiana Blue Star Salute" . I advise everyone to check out their website, http://www.indianabluestar.org/. It is an organization where the Legions of my county put together a one day free all access activities for the soldiers of Indiana and their families. They have fly overs, celebs, autographs, mascots from sports teams, a dedication, everything. It's really neat and such a fun day. It's completely free, and the basic concept is we want the families of these soldiers to come out and have a stress free day and have fun. This year, the country star, Michael Peterson is coming to our event and giving a concert. The event isn't until June this year, so a lot more celebs will hopefully sign up. We have awhile. Last year a bunch of my friends put together a booth to give free chair massages. Pretty cool, right? There are about 30-40 booths of free and cool stuff as well from all the sponsors. Anyway, my meetings are in Indianapolis, and I live in Louisville, so I obviously can't go to all of them, but some. They are Wednesdays at 6.

Anyway, there's my rundown of plans until Summer and the event happens! Don't worry, if i cannot make it to class I always go back and go to the seminar and watch it, and do the seminar option 2.

The countdown continues.....

Hello class,

I know I have been super excited and talking non stop about my upcoming vacation to some of you, but I cannot help it I tell you! I am taking my daughter to Disney World for the first time, as well as my husband for the first time, and I've never been so excited in my life. (Except for when my daughter was born.) My daughter is so fun right now, and I know it'll be magical for her. We have 36 days currently until we leave. It is going so slow! My daughter's favorite characters are the characters from Winnie the Pooh, and Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

Oh, and one other thing? Do you know what her favorite thing is right now? Getting on www.disney.com and watching the "roller coasters". (They have individual movies with "trailer" type videos for some of the rides.) Do you thinks she's as excited as I am?

Plagarism is a no-no!

The question was what would you do if someone used something you created without giving you credit?

If something of mine was being used without giving me credit, I would be very very upset. First, I would confront the person. If they would not apologize or take it back, I would consult legal help. The problem with legal help is it has to be proven.

I wrote a screenplay a couple of years ago and sent it into the publisher. (It didn't get published by the way.) Anyway, the publisher advised me to make a copy of the screenplay and mail it to myself, and leave it unopened, before I sent it into them. Therefore, I could prove it was mine based on the postage stamp when it was sent back to me.

Does anyone know what kind of legal help can be processed for plagiarism? I know a lot of schools have immediate suspension if the student is caught with plagiarizing. I guess it would depend on the severity. If it was just a research paper, I would make sure the school or admissions rep knew. If it was something like a screenplay, book, movie, something like that, I would consult a legal representative.

I work hard on my papers, as most of us do. To take something that is not yours and make it yours is stealing. Not cool! What do you guys think?

Being an Online Student

To be honest, I love being an online student, but I miss class room time too. I like being an online student because it is so ON MY TIME. When you are a mommy, this is huge. If I want to work on homework, take a nap with my daughter, and come back to it, I can. That's awesome. As I have mentioned before, we are taking a vacation the last week of March, so I am working on working ahead in the course. I am especially hoping to get ahead on my final paper. That last seminar I will probably not be able to attend, but I can do the second option and not have a penalty. I love that. I can go on vacation without feeling guilty. How cool is that? As long as I am responsible and turn all my work in and do the second option, I can still get a good grade. I can still look at the seminar I missed and watch and listen to it, even if I didn't see it live. This is fun to do also because I can pause and rewind at any point. Online school is fun!

I miss classroom time too, though. I did all my massage therapy classes in a classroom, because it was so hands on. There is pretty much no classes where the student has to have hands on because it is not possible. I still make lots of friends online, but I do not know what they look like or anything about them. There is really no one on one time. What does everyone think? I love online school, but I kind of wish it was part online, part in class. Do you think this is what it will come to?

I love the anonymity, flexibility, and self-directed style of the courses. I can say something and it not be right, and I don't feel embarrased or on the spot. (I get embarrased easily, try it some time, my friends think it's funny!) I think we can create a closer atmosphere by telling eachother more about us, instead of just our names and where we are from. How about, does anyone have any kids? Pets? What's your favorite food? Childhood memory?

Greetings Classmates!

Greetings Classmates! I hope everyone had a good weekend. I just wanted to make a general blog congratulating everyone on the blogs. :) I had a great weekend, and on to homework! I love writing, although I have writer's block. I was just wondering though, I am taking my honeymoon next month. (We've been married for years, had one child, but FINALLY got time and money together to take our honeymoon.)We are going to Disney in Orlando. I was hoping while I was there, besides from homework and the assigned blogging, I could blog a few things about the trip? Would anyone mind? It would help me get used to blogging I think.
